I had the thought that Moses saw all the history of the world (Moses 1:8), and yet what he decided to record is in the book of Genesis. There must be something important in there.
I also thought of the story of Jacob and Esau. When they met up again, Jacob was afraid that his brother would kill him. The story is in Genesis 33. Jacob offers him many gifts (which could be types of the blessings of the gospel, themselves). Esau politely declines, but Jacob entreats him, and he finally relents and accepts them.
I believe the same will happen again in the latter-days. The Israelites will go unto the sons of Esau, who will at first politely decline, and then accept all the gifts from the hand of Jacob and be blessed with the gospel.
