Sidon (Zidon)

In Lebanon, northeast of Tyre and Zarephath, all three being coastal cities.

Mentioned in Jacob's prophecy (Genesis 49:13)
Sidon oppressed Israel (Judges 10:12)
Israel sinned in worshipping goddess of Zidonians (Judges 10:6, 1 Kings 11:5, 33)
In ancient times it was the most important city of Phoenicia (hence Phoenicians are generally called Zidonians in the Old Testament). (BD)
It was on the border of Asher (Joshua 19:28) but was never occupied by that tribe (Judges 1:31). (BD)
