• Indifference is a great hindrance to accepting the gospel.

• Some of the purposes of the scripures:
  • persuade men to do good
  • tells about our fathers, things the Lord has done in the past
  • talks about Jesus Christ
  • persuades us to believe in him
  • helps us endure to the end
  • teach us to do good (2 Nephi 33:10)
